Student perspective on quality assurance policy at national level
At the national level students have a say in how quality assurance is organised.
Student representation through VVS
At the Flemish level, the Flemish Union of Students (VVS) represents the students’ voice. Through VVS, students have a say in decisions regarding how the quality assurance system in Flanders is organised and how the different procedures are operationalised.
Contributing to the NVAO
The NVAO involves students in its own operations and internal quality assurance processes. Furthermore, there is always a student on the NVAO’s board.Each year, NVAO organises a student seminar together with the Flemish Students’ Union (VVS), bringing together representatives of student councils from higher education institutions across Flanders. During the seminar, we engage with students on quality assurance and their role in it, and exchange experiences around a relevant theme. This helps us stay connected to what matters to students and take their perspectives into account in our work. At the same time, the seminar gives students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of quality assurance, exchange experiences and contribute to shaping quality assurance at system level. In this way, students have an influence not only at programme and institutional level, but also on the quality assurance system as a whole.
