The National Framework of Qualifications in Higher Education in Flanders is compatible with the overarching Framework for Qualifications of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA). This is stated by NVAO following the conclusion of an independent and international external verification committee.

NVAO is charged with the task of overseeing the Higher Education Qualifications Framework in Flanders and keeps it up to date.
